omg. i'm screwed indefinitely i tell you.

since i lost all my data ever since my harddisk crashed, i lost all my visa application data too and now even though i've re-filled up a form, i can't book a date for an interview because i'm unable to cancel the previous one i made with my other confirmation number. DIE DIE DIE..HOW NOW BROWN COW?!?!?

GOD HELPP!!!

i am mourning the death of my laptop :(

i'm currently at the ACER Service Center waiting to repair my lappie and i swear...i am dying.

the horror was gradually slowly building up the way my laptop died. initially it was just blanking out now and then and it was annoying but fine since it always went back to normal after blanking out for a while. i thought it was cos shaun helped me to download and install this superbly dangerous program that if done wrongly could cause the laptop to crash and die. ah wells.

anyway. last night it blanked out and refused to revive and when i restarted it, the laptop started making strange clicking noises like it was going to explode any time soon and the ticking was a bomb going off : icks i tell you. i was sooooo scared i moved away from the laptop in case if it really did explode, at least i wouldn't be disfigured by all the flying shrads of laptop pieces. haha. i'm quite vain after all heh.

so here i am...travelled all the way to bloody jurong east where acer is..seriously..acer laptop sucks. and to save their asses for that shortcoming, they intelligently placed their repair centre in some damn ulu corner of Singapore so lazy people like me won't bother to travel all the way here and unless it was a life and death situation...like hte one i'm currently in. sigh...

so it took me about 1.5 hr to travel all the way here, and an additional 2 hr wait to even get my laptop screened to see what the problem is about. apparently my harddisk is damaged. ack. i seriously seriously hope that i will be able to recover my data cos there's alot of stuff inside that i haven't backed up yet. why didn't it crash earlier when i backed up my info?!?!? GRRRR...

i need to print my visa stuff cos there's the secret barcode number that i used for my visa interview and now i don't have it with me anymore..GRR..CURSES! then....there's also the new church bulletin designs which i don't think i'm able to replicate and produce my tmr evening for printing. CURSES!!! my laptop hates me...just because i'm going ot abandon it soon for a mac -___-''' stupid computers...not so stupid after all. SIGH.... -___-

ticky tocky ticky tocky. i AM SOOOO BORED here. there's absoultely nothing to do and i tell you...the tv that we're watching is strange...like every program on channel 5 lasts for only like a measly 10 minutes. WATCH WHAT YOU TELL ME?!?! i'm getting so restless....sigh...

God must love me alot. i think so. everytime i pray for the rain to stop it does :S

it stopped the previous time i asked so i could go to work dry and it did. today before i left for work amy said it was pouring cats and dogs. but when bobo and i left the office it was perfectly dry :) on the bus, it poured, when i got off, it stopped :) so all the way home, i as dry. God is good.

second thing i'm thankful for is my list of professors i'm getting for art school. i was told by a fellow schoolmate that i got really good professors, hard, but good. except one...but then when i checked today i found my schedule changed and the good professors remained, but the one lousy one was changed. according to reviews and stuff...she looks good. people have complained that her lessons are hard, but she pushes u to produce good quality work that is worthy of being portfolio pieces. all her reviews give her a 8-10 out of 10 rating :) thank God! how else can i be sooo blessed???? definitely not luck ;P

it's funny how God still chooses to bless us even when we totally suck and we totaly don't deserve it. i guess that's what they call grace. perhaps i should add an extra middle name...grace :) just to remind me of what God has done for my life...and then my first name will remind me to always give glory to God ;p

today has been such a happy day :) we have 3 more days of work. but the 2 best things that took place was 1) i had the ultimate combination for lunch today. i was trying to decide between tempura don and katsu curry rice when i saw FRIED SEAFOOD CURRY RICE. and cos they didn't have fried seafood anymore, they replaced it with tempura. hahahaha. I WAS SOO DELIGHTED THAT I DIDN'T HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION. so i had a very very satisfying and yummy lunch :)

secondly, my dear boss, amy...finally came up with a nickname for me in her life. Tim Trey has "love of my life", Jonathan Dave Mann has "Light of my life" and she has given me the title of "My Petite Angel" in some i dunno language. it sounds super classy and ooohhh...i likeeeee..lol. i feel so wanted and loved :D heeheeheeheehee **BEAMS**

east coast tmr! our not so personal personal retreat! gonna go cycle to some ulu part together and have a good quiet time.

Hello....glory to God...OVER!

had a date with my church colleagues - aunty michelle, aunty selina, sharon, amy and pacey today at pasta de waraku. they have the yummiest pasta i've ever eaten...albiet served in very small portions and weird varieties. WHO EATS EGGPLANT WITH PASTA?!?! strange people.

nonetheless, i really enjoyed my crab cream patty pasta with meat sauce. it was really good stuff. the pasta was nice and smooth and the crab cream patty delicious and whoaaaaa...:D even the pizza was nice :D it's those kinda thin crust ones that never ever fills ur tummy but adds to the size of it. i wish they would invent food that disintegrates into good nutrients and not give u bad stuff like bad cholestrol and fats.

michelle saw this makeover package plus photoshoot going at a damn cheap price and all the aunties and amy and sharon wanted me to go for it just to prepare them for my return from studies in case i suddenly turn super girly and return with long swishing in the wind hair and 4 inch heels strutting my way down with make up and long eyelashes :S ah wells..i dunno..SCAD is a time for me to breakaway from my past and let me run free and wild and perhaps...change....hopefully for the better :D

having nothing else to do since my dear pacey had a date with mundyman...i went along with amy and sharon for a cuppa coffee at some small cafe where we totally embarassed ourselves or rather..where they totally embarassed me with their terrible dirty jokes and comments and laughed like mad people that caught the stares of the waiters and the people especially since it was an open cafe. you see...it first started when sharon asked me what BALL of ice cream i wanted and amy just started bursting out in her horrendous witch laughter and what made it worse was the waiter was taking our orders and their specialty was sausages...so you could expect the whole 2 ball with ice cream and a sausage thing. -___-''' heh..

anyway..clarence introduced this movie to me - art school confidential. excellent show for the 2 of us art school kids and it was full of the whole stereotypes - people who go to art school cos they think it's slack/nothing to do, weirdos, emo people, super sensitive people, whores, anti social idiots etc etc. i thought it was some cheesy comedy but it turned out pretty good and deep on the development of this kid who was really really talented and fell in love with this model that models for nude drawing classes and he just goes astray and conforms to art school with the drinking and smoking cheating to get to the top. it's really sad that he does it at first cos he has such a sucky and biased teacher and he was just trying to prove to be a great artist..it gets even sadder but more touching when he does to attract the attention of the girl of his dreams. sigh..super sad ending. go you tube it if you are interested in watching. mind you though. there's nude scenes in it cos of the nude drawing class.

speaking of nude drawing classes i'm really quite nervous about it. on the bright side...at least i'm doing it overseas so i don't have to feel all awkward when i see fellow schoolmates at NTU who nude modelled for classes. plus..i'm hoping to get hot ang moh models. lol. hahaha. but then again...i think they are harder to draw cos of all the definitions. fat people are just lumps and circles :D lol. i just hope i dun get an old person cos they're all wrinkly and it's gonna be a PITA (pain in the ass) to draw them esp if Ramsey (my teacher) expects us to do a detailed drawing with shadings and all. I'll get some botox injections and do it on the models before they model so there'll be less wrinkes to draw and shade. aha. either that or i should just take of my specs so all their wrinkles get blured so i dun even have to draw those wrinkles ;P

old people really shouldn't model. the old man modelling for the clas in Art School confidential was really disgusting cos youtube didn't censor it so it was all clear and not pixelated and his thing was just hanging out there and the worst part was when he was such a cheekopek and went right up to one of the female students till it was like eye level. it was just damn sick...it looked like an overfried sausage...all thin and wrinkly :S

oohhh...art school...quite scared about it. not sure what to expect. :

my silly younger brother is back at home safe and sound. thanks for all who kept him in prayer :)

i guess after this incident i realised i do care for him after all. i realised with a shock when i first found out about the accident and went all emo about the idea of him being in serious condition in hospital. but then thank goodness it was all minor.

shukun told me about the nurse at the hospital and her interaction with my bro. I JUST HAD TO BE KAYPOH and ask my younger bro bout it. it was SOOOO AMUSING ok. he even looked cute. like when i asked him about it he was like trying to surpress a smile though it was obviously showing on his face while he went..."why....what about her" with shifty eyes and that smile on his face. hahah cute man. then i was like..just tell me anything about her. and he went....sweet....gentle...nice......with that smile pasted on his face. lol. hahahahahhahaa

so cute.

haha. out of boredom:

today is such an eventful day. haha. fridge spoil, elder bro sick, younger bro got knocked down by car. suay sia my family.

early in the morning i was rudely awakened by the calling of the security guard and i was like what the hell. my bro went to answer and all i heard was dunno wad bank here dunnno wad la. so the first thing that came to mind was what idiotic bank. where got people deliver thing so early in the morning!! @!@#$% so i was quite grumpy when the phone rang. i thought someone would actually pick it up but no one did! so by the time i picked up the phone the guy hung up. grrr..

i went back to sleep and just as i happily got to lalaland again my bro winnie came in to tell my jono got into a car accident...like right outside my hse :S that silly boy. gave me a heart attack! thank goodness it's not serious. he la. rushing for school and dashed across the road in front of a stationary taxi. the driver behind couldn't see him and knocked into him. he can't recall how he fell though. i counted his bruises. he has 11! many on his arms and legs and 1 on his head. haha. it's quite amusing when you see him cos the bruises are so spastically spreaded out that it's very unimaginable as to how he even fell :S

anyway. this rude shock was good enough to wake me up in time to meet my PACEYs at east coast park for a time of cycling :) this time we cycled for 3 hrs and my ass hurts like crap. but seriously. we never knew singapore was so nice. haha. cycled all the way to changi airport there and saw some planes taking off. it was fun to scream as it flew cos there's no one around. obviously i was the only one mad daring enough to do so. heh. God was good once again and we had a great weather to cycle in. it was pretty cooling for a 11-2 pm cycle and the sun came out only for a while. so we cycled back all the way to the other end of east coast and though we had 10 min left we decided to forgo it cos our asses really hurt like crap. i can't even sit down properly. ack. nonetheeless. i'm happy with my tan :) it's a nice brown-red that i love. haha. only problem is my hand looks like a yin-yang thing cos it's half red and half white :S so it looks retarded. lol. must go cycling again! so fun :) esp must explore the rest of changi!

came home and went to visit jonathan at the hospital with dad and my grandma. i love the children hospital! it's so nice and happy. but i do believe they can make it happier by adding disney murals or smth. it's so dull!! even the outpatient treatment is nicer. haha. got noah ark wallpaper. hahaha. ah well..he's still dizzy and vomiting. just hope there's no concussion or anything serious.

that silly boy. lol

ZOO!

I WENT TO THE ZOO YESTERDAY!
whoever said going to the zoo wasn't fun?!?!? it was a blast and seriously i bet everyone is going to want to go to the zoo after this post. people who say the zoo is only for kids are just trying to cover up their deep desire just because they want to appear all grown up and cool. but you know what????? only really cool and mature people will admit they love the zoo and want to go there because they are confident about who they are and they see no wrong in the zoo! hahahaha YEAH MAN.

i was soooo excited to go to the zoo and i have absolutely no regrets in going there. i was practically jumping out of my skin on the way to the zoo from ang mo kio. Really thank God for the weather :) it was raining superbly heavily at ang mo kio where we had lunch but by the time we reached the zoo it was totally dry and apparently, mandai wasn't raining, so we didn't have to walk in a blanket of humidity. since it hasn't rained at mandai, the sky was super cloudy and it was super breezy. it just threatened to rain, but it didn't. God was good :)

i'm no photographer...but here are the photos:
pacey glowing in the dark! the psuedo zebra. hahaha. pirated copy ah pacey. but pacey really is like a zebra. gentle and quiet. and i love her all the same :)

Yucky jungle nymph. we wouldn't have noticed it if not for it moving weirdly. it was like humping the leaf :S

Bat. they pee even while upside down. which means they let it dribble down their faces. then they lick it when they are thristy. speaking of pee...bobo kept noticing pee-ing animals. from rhinos to monkeys to bats :S

MY FRIENDS! gotta love the otters. they're just so adorable and as noisy as i am :D gotta love the anti-social one who kept swimming back and forth and doing his own back flips into the water as if he was showing off in front of us. they are just soo cute i want to bring the whole bunch home as pets. heh.

mama kanga and baby roo :) super cute.
notice how both are smiling with their mouths open :)

yawning snake. how often do u get to be a snake dentist and peer inside the mouth of a snake???
OPEN WIDE!!!!!!!

"RIBBIT" says the frog. it's so fat..i wonder how much frog porridge this one could prepare :)
by the way..the weird speaker like things near his eyes are his eardrums. haha
OOH...mesmerising greeeennnn ssssssnnnnaaaaakkkkeee. preetttty :)

it's shedding time. this was quite gross cos there were snake skin everywhere in every cage. pretty disgusting but cool at the same time.

you gotta love this cat. total puss in boots moment.

TIMON!

Nat wee the timon wanna-be

bobo the sad zebra. she has blue stripes!

inuka is madly twice my height :S talk about having an unfair life :(

Nat wee is having an identity crisis man. first she wanted to be a meerkat. now she wants to be a rhino :S

these rhinos were pretty close to us so yeah.
all in all i'm really thankful to God for the whole day's trip. we had a good sighting of animals and we were lucky to have very close encounters with them where some of them, especially the big cats, really come all the way upfront to the glass of the enclosure where u are practically just separated by the glass alone. or maybe....i really do have this special connection with animals :)
maybe..just maybe...su hui and debby were right. i should just find a farmer boyfriend and marry him and be a farmer's wife and live on a farm with many many animals :)
just maybe :)

i realised with a shock of horror and delight that i only have about a month left before i leave for a brand new life in the states. It's sad how it's only when you're about to leave that you start to notice the beauty of the things around you, friends and even Singapore.

As i laid in bed at chrystal's hse during the sleepover i couldn't help but wonder why i always left the church just when i started to get used to the people. I drifted in and out and in and out and now that i'm back after the merge in cell group and after the A level mugging and have finally gotten close to at least the girls in the cell grp i have to leave..again. i wish i didn't have to leave the cell group. We're just starting to have proper discussions and have deeper sharing among the girls and then i have to leave it all behind...AGAIN. like what the shit! grrr...

after last night's sleepover and sharings and today's dinner outing with the 2 brudders su and debby, i couldn't help but feel emo about the fact that it is inevitable that we are going to drift apart :( it was fun just bumming around in the room talking and laughing or just sitting down in a quiet corner of singapore at the grass patch of the national museum just eating crispy kremes from indonesia and listening to music off the handphone watching the clouds float by and simply talking rubbish and laughing at the weirdest stuff.

i love my close friends for just being who they are. the very fact that we click so well, that we can just bum around doing nothing and feel satisfied, talk about absolute rubbish and be the weirdest idiots doing the stupidest stuff and not worry about being judged cos we are all so confident and comfortable in our relationships with one another. I love them because of this. because i know i belong :) and for that it's making leaving Singapore so hard.

after jc and the whole break, i realised who i can remain friends for like forever and who were just passing friends. as debby reminded us about our time capsule thing we had in IJ, i couldn;t help but remember that one thing i wrote, was about still being close friends with the brudders even at age 25 or smth.

this post is dedicated to 2 grps of people:
the girls in my cell - for always being there for me to share my problems and for all the prayer and advice and support :)

more so to my brudders - whom have gone through thick and thin in arc and through all major exams. for simply always being there for a good laugh and for the plain knowledge and confidence that i can always count on your friendships :)

one of my distant cousins veronica once said that Singaporeans are grumpy because of the hot weather. ang mos are generally happier cos they live in the cold.

imagine this scene:

hot weather in Singapore. everyone is sticky and disgusting and therefore, highly irritable.

on the other hand....

in cold countries, everyone is trying to keep warm and thus, they are more loving as they huddle together to keep warm and they welcome more cuddles and people.

this morning's weather was super nice. it made me happy and springy as i sucked in the nice cool fresh air and realised with such joy that i am not grumpy! makes me look forward to the idea of going to SCAD.

I know that soon i will be breathing in happy air :)

Wednesday, July 02, 2008

yay. i finally got my schedule for SCAD. it's not bad. minus the art history. but OH WELL...i have to take it sooner or later anyway.

so....it's
Survey of Western Art I - ARTH 100 - 11 (10974) with Jeffrey D. Hamilton
8:00 am - 10:30 am (tues, Thurs) @ Pepe Hall 204

Drawing I - DRAW 100 - 66 (10259) with Steven A. Ramsey
2:00 pm - 4:30pm (tues, Thurs) @ Wallin Hall 203

2-D Design - DSGN 100 - B18 (10407) with Marcia A. Neblett
11:00 am - 1:30 pm (Mon, Wed) @ Wallin Hall 208

First-Year Seminar (10136)- FSYR 101 - B18
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm (Wed) @ Dyson

apparently i got the hardest teacher for drawing classes. or so they say. he is damn hard on his students but he's a damn good teacher. i seriously dunno whether to rejoice or to cry :S ah well.

but i'm glad i got my schedule early. at least now i can start studying my art history notes. the textbook is going to be so bloody expensive at like 130 bucks..AHHHHHHHH. to think i;m going to pay so much for art history..ART HISTORY!! the subject i hated most!! good lord...now i have to study it seriously. oh well........at least now there's more purpose to study it. heh. i also need to spend my free one month studying my maths to recap on algebra, geometry and trigo. esp trigo. it was one of my weakest subjects. EEKS. better study so i don't have to waste money taking the module on maths all over again. and i need to get 70 percent in order to clear it. only then am i free to do anatomy and astronomy and the likes :D can't wait for school!!!!

anyway. i need to rant about this. i was on the bus on my way home and there was this lady seated next to me. all was fine until she took out this nail clipper and started clipping her nails on the bus, disposing them on the bus. the whole entire act was super disgusting and i stared at her with disapproval now and then but she didn't take the hint. what made me angrier was how she changed seats after disposing her nails on the bus. like what the hell! those people should live in eternity buried in nail clippings!! HMPH.

i was researching on the public transport system for Savannah when i came across their bus rules:
Littering, smoking, eating, open beverage containers, playing a radio without earphones and loud behavior (yes!! they should implement this in Singapore) are not allowed on the bus. An open can or bottle is an open container. Lidded cups without holes and other closed containers are acceptable. Spilled food and beverages cause safety hazards, stains, and attract bugs. All groceries, prepared food, and beverages must be securely packaged. A paying passengers takes priority over packages for seating space. Proper attire and behavior are required. Service will be denied to persons without shoes and adequate clothing. (this is super amusing man) Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

had to drag my pitiful body out of the bed at an unearthly hour of 6.15 am thanks to shaun ong who sabo-ed pacey and i to go on the Singapore Flyer together with the church office, pastors and ministry workers. i was so grumpy having interrupted sleep with the knowledge that i could continue lying in bed till the sun was up. grrr..

nonetheless, being a ahem...responsible kiddo that i am. haha. (talk about humility)..i dragged myself out of bed to meet the duo at city hall mrt at 7.15 am..OH GOSH..SUCH AN UNEARTHLY HOUR CAN!! to think people go to work so early!!! xiao man. silly po was so late. he kept us waiting for more than half an hour!! bobo and i were coming up with various reasons why he was late - he was still struggling with the stairs, he got stuck at the mrt gate, cannot get out of bed etc etc. hahha. stuff to amuse us basically :D

i was really apprehensive about the whole loveSingapore thing at the flyer. it's so awkward being the only younger ones considering that most people there are ministry workers and pastors, not to mention i don't really care about Singapore (die...i'm going to get thrown into jail for lack of loyalty where they will drill me with propaganda and what nots...andddd..i'm going to get SMITTED by God for being so unloving and uncaring). yet, when i reached there i was pretty much encouraged by how many churches have united together for the same course, worshipping together as one and praying for Singapore. it was really cool being on the flyer as u worshipped and prayed. it was literally being closer to God. it wasn't all spiritual and all that, but nonetheless it was an encouraging sight.

sadly, the rain during the morning left most of our view foggy and you couldn't really see far. the singapore flyer really ain't that big a deal. haha. it's definitely not worth it to spend so much honestly. the saving grace for having to wake up early was the free complimentary meal of Popeye's chicken which was YUMMY :) i went high on the way back in Pastor Alvin's car and made a total fool of myself by talking rubbish just to entertain them (pastor alvin, pastor kenneth and aunty selena) including reading the kiddy phonics storybook on the clumsy bee and other stories. hahaha.

so there we were. superbly full that we had no space left for staff lunch after that. ah well. the day passed quickly today so it's not that bad :)
