i apologize for the late updates. there's been a hullalevula load of things happening at one shot as i try to settle summer stuff, housing, packing, school work and events.

prob the highlight of recent times has been the sandarts festival, which is an annual spring event held at SCAD in which we have competitions in groups of individuals for sand sculptures, sand castles or wind sculpture (which prob guarantees u a higher chance of winning prize money cos less than 10 people participate. but it is of course...not very fun). got a chance to participate with naomi, christy and kristen this time and though our initial plan of a ship wrecking octopus did not go through due to i can't remember what issues, we compromised and just stayed with an octopus with a lil ship that is out of the picture. haha. we knew we weren't going to win but it was fun doing it anyway. GROUP PICTURE <3

anyhows. mum dropped by Savannah after her business trip to come visit me and to get my housing papers signed and what not. so i am officially HOUSED. yay. it was a surprisingly good time together with no quarreling and a few good times of sharing and meeting up with my friends. not to forget that when mummy's here, so is good food and laziness with transport all around. WHEEEEE :D

managed to get a few of my packed boxes over to the new apartment as well so i have less to worry about. speaking of packing, i'm done and ready to move with the exception of things that i am currently using. :) gonna be able to get the keys to the apartment within the next few days and start shifting in too. got the utilities settled and it's seriously so strange having to do all these things. I always thought that you buy a house and everything comes with it. u just bring the tv, plug it in and it works. who knew u had to subscribe to cable and what nots?!?! houses should just come pre-packaged. yes yes.

another grown up thing i did was to go apply for a school event job during the summer so i had to go down to the social security office to apply for one. you would think that a government place like this would look nice and high tech but noooo...it was similar to the industrial parks of offices in singapore, the older ones and the inside looked more like a jail visit room with glass paned windows and lousy chairs and there wasn't even a LED sign that told u what number they were serving at what counter. we had to wait and listen for it to be called which the intercom wasn't very clear at all. it was all fuzzy and what nots. thankfully there was hardly anyone there so i didn't have a big waiting time.

it definitely felt good being able to get out of downtown savannah to take a breather. it's frustrating being trapped here with the same scene all the time so i'm glad this was an extra opportunity for me to get out and learn the buses. speaking of buses, i'm glad that downtown savannah is like the main interchange for ALL the buses. no kidding. the cool stuff about the buses here is that you pull the chord to signal that you want to alight and the bus just STOPS anywhere. no designated bus stops which is scary cos I'm still unsure as to how to system works. and the weird part is both the ingoing and outgoing buses stop at the same stop instead of opposite sides of the road like they do in Singapore. how the bus route works? i don't know :S but i'm definitely going to explore taking public transport. it feels so much better and more alive now that i don't feel as trapped. :D

school has been going on as sluggishly as it possibly can. i thought it was just me hating this quarter that's why it seems to be going so slowly, but apparently it's been the same for everyone else too. I think i'm just tired out not having a break due to ASB taking up my spring quarter break but i'm definitely more than ready for this quarter to be over. hasn't been a fantastic quarter with disgusting classes like english and 3d. CMPA has been an alright class, with some amazingly cool stuff that we learn with photoshop, illustrator, after effects and currently dreamweaver and making websites using photoshop...WHICH IS AWESOME FOR ME.

now that i realise the power of the boring manual, i've decided to make full use of summer break to learn and master these programs so that i am more than ready to do more stuff.

oh where art thou summer break. hurry come!!

and oh. ty from extreme makeover home edition came down for a visit. haha. COOLness. he's my hero.
