RIGHT AT THE START of my journey already got things happen. si beh jiat lat. during check in we realised my luggage was too heavy so i had to remove my shoe bag and hand carry it instead so i had to stuff it into my hand carry bag cos the plane wouldn't allow so many hand carries in one go. THEN my trusty old bag died. the zip died. and i was like OMG. JIAT LAT. havent even board the plane already die already. i wanted to die man. but no fear. mummy came to the rescue with her muscles and she tore the stuck zip out and it became functional again. damn. if i knew she could do that i would have asked her a long time ago. that damn zip was stuck since sec 2. haha yes. that's how old that trusty bag is. it has travelled everywhere with me <3
then saying goodbyes. it wasn't emotional despite the fact that this time i will be gone for bout a year or so. many thanks to the ceegee who came to see me off. quite happy that only they came cos it's easier to say goodbyes rather than just fluttering around groups of people like before :) really gonna miss them. must thank God for the internship for bringing me closer to the cg girls and guys. just kinda sad that just when i get to know them better i had to leave. BAH. oh well. they bought me my Glory Handbag. LOL. now whoever wants to go Heaven will have to go through my handbag. CHOI.....blasphemy. thanks thanks :) to the girls who bought me hazeline moisturizer. I REMEMBER TO USE K.
so after all was cleared and boarded the plane. the flight was decent, no motion sickness and overall quite a fun flight with the turbulence :) didn't eat much and at the end of the SQ journey i was really and truly quite sick of airplane food. think i'm going to puke at the smell of it. i watched quite a bit of shows - beverly hills chihuahua, hellboy 2-the golden army, igor, city of ember, fiddler on the roof, pushing daisies etc. thanks to the turbulence the flight got extended an extra hour. pft. which was in a sense good cos it meant less waiting time during transit :)
landed at moscow for the transit and it was SNOWING :D :D so PRETTTYYYY i tell u. the blanket of white covering the green grass, anything far away fades to oblivion, the trees etc was GORGEOUS. loveeee the snowy scenery :)
the continuing flight to houston was more unbearable and each hour seem to tick away super slooooowwwwlllllyyyy...like despite watching movies and all, i found myself to be checking the time left to destination every few minutes even though it seemed like hours has passed. sad.
when i FINALLY reached houston and checked it and all that laadeedaa-ness i had to struggle with getting the luggages checked in to delta airways which unlike the previous time with intercontinental, required travelling from terminal D to terminal A which is by the way, from one end of the houston airport to the other. to make matters worse, the only way to getting to terminal D was using an elevator, which could only fit 2 luggage carts and it was CONSTANTLY FULL. and and and. they didn't allow luggage carts on the inter-terminal trains which meant i had to walk from one end to the other which i asked the officer who told me it would take 30-45 min. the scariest part was i had to make sure i wouldn't miss my flight which was at 4.15 pm and it was 3.00 but i had not checked in YET. SOOOO....smart me used my acting skills. held my e-ticket paper in one hand and continously check the time on my watched and put on a damn worried expression and surprisingly, this old chinese couple told me to get on the elevator first :) yay. hahaha. THANK YOU! and and and. i ignored the no trolley on train sign and went on it anyway with my trolley cos i am NOT going to lug everything bit by bit. HOW TO??? speaking of lugging the checked in baggage i was able to muster all the strength in my muskles to drag them off the baggage belt and squished them all onto one baggage trolley. anyhows, i managed to check in to delta on time to catch my flight. PHEW.
apparently i was "selected" for some special screening and i had EXTRA security checks. had the usual screening and the full body pat down and they checked every single bag with a cotton swab to test for i dunno wad kind of substance la. lucky i had a pretty nice officer who joked around with me so it was pretty cool.
flight to atlanta was pretty cool cos the weather there was disgusting. it was HORRIBLY FOGGY. like it was so bad till you couldn't even see the end of the wing of the plane. and mind u. it's a SMALL PLANE. that was how bad it was. seriously. i felt damn scared just sitting there. the landing was like scary cos it felt as if the pilot was trying his hardest to brake the plane as if there was a plane in front or smth that required us to stop ASAP. lucky nothing happened. took forever to taxi cos it was hard to see the other planes and all so the pilot had to wait for instructions and all that jazz. mind u. this flight was delayed from 4.15pm to 5pm and we had to get the plane out latest by 5 cos another plane was arriving and the pilot commented on how cooperative we all were and that we were the fastest he has seen people board a flight with so much baggage too. we are COOL man. anyhows. with the delay i had only 30 minutes before my next flight to savannah departed. mine u. it's the time it FLIES away. which meant i had super little time to board the plane.
to make matters worse, the little passage thing to the entrance of the plane was screwed up so we couldn't connect the entrance so the refused to let us get off the plane. after many tries and even an attempt to re-taxi the plane at another gate, they finally had to let us off the plane by the rear end stairs which was a new experience and by then, alot of us had missed our connecting flight time. it was too late for me to panic cos my flight would have already flew off while i was still in the plane anyway, but i hoped against everything that with the fog, my plane would be delayed.
rushed all the way to the gate only to find out that it was still boarding but when i got there, the boarding gate was closed and i was booked for the next flight which was OH MY GOSH. 7.50 am the next day. i always looked at people sleeping over in the airport and i always told myself i'd never be in that situation ever, but today i found myself in that very same pathetic position and i had to find a way to sleep and still be alert to protect my belongings from being stolen. i tell u my friend, it was no fun. it was so cold it was hard to sleep. with bright lights, noise and low temperatures, i found myself waking up every few minutes and i barely got rest. to think i was looking forward to arriving at SCAD and sleeping in my wonderful bed and getting more than enough rest before class started. boo. now i had only one sleep and then its class. i'm not ready yet!!!!!
woke up to some dreams/nightmares about my luggage connecting incorrectly and i worried that i may lose my luggage, which thankfully, did not happen. after waiting a thousand and one years for my luggage (I had difficulty identifying it before dragging it out of the belt) and finally got myself back to the dorms. PHEW
what a day.
and then. when i opened the door to my room i got a shock. it was in a different arrangement cos i have a new roommate. :S no notice whatsoever. so i was like....okaaaayyyy....she seems pretty nice. i dunno. i havent seen her after this morning. haha. i think even if i pass her by sometime i wouldnt notice. i'm terrible with new people and i dun think it's my fault. so with the room newly arranged (I kept my stuff in the exact same positions. i am not changing.) and posters up, my room looks more like a college dorm, except mine still remains as it previously was. messy and blank. lol.
miss having jill around. now my room doesn';t feel like my room and there's hardly anyone in here. people don't really want to come anymore cos they fear the awkwardness. oh sad. :(
class tmr and i'm tired. FINALLY....i cant wait to sink into my nice soft bed and pillows. WHOOPEEEE.
