after my time in the library i went around savannah to get pictures for sketchbook work. i know i'm not supposed to draw from pictures, but i'm not intending to drag around my many markers and water color and what nots from park square to park square with the wind blowing all my papers around.
i managed to borrow the book on the drawings/sketches
of stephen silver who is an artist and character designer for
nickelodeon. Saw his development of danny phantom and such and i've decided that my goal now is to master proportions and then move on to stylising and concept such that i can draw base on my imagination. however, before this can happen, i need to work on mastercopying previous artworks to try out different mediums and techniques and getting a feel of the art and style. this is exciting. sadly, wonderful art supplies like good copic markers or prismacolor markers cost a bomb, with a set of 12 costing a minimum of 45 USD and the copic ones at 70 USD. WHYYYYYYYY :( even a simple lead holder, which is like a mechanical pencil, only that the lead for it is pretty much the thickness of a pencil, costs 7 USD. this is INSANE!!! grrrr
anyhows, the weather today was gorgeous to walk around in and i pretty much discovered a part of savannah i never noticed or saw before. i am excited for my photography module which i'll take during summer because i have discovered new and int
eresting things, and there will definitely be greater and more exciting discoveries. WHOOPIE :)
