the last day of orientation. we didn't do much. considering most of the time was spent doing admin work with the CT in the morning followed by preparation for the finale.
i just felt extra there. there was nothing for me to do. i felt damn useless and a slacker cos everyone else was working and some of us weren't cos we seriously didn't have anything to do. annoyance.
finale was ok. we had fun watching the stuff on stage, but nehoma was so pathetic. we were like the quietest tribe there. i was pretty disappointed in nehoma. i didn't understand why this OGL told us to sit down and not cheer when our grp went up on stage. nvm.
we had mass dances and some disco thingy. i didn't enjoy that. it just isn't my thing. maybe it's cos i didn't know any of the songs they played except for "one way" which was quite weird cos it's a Christian song. still, i felt God telling me something. i'm not sure if it's really from God or if it's just me, but i felt that the entire thing was wrong. i know it's normal and all for people to dance and scream and have loads of fun during such stuff, but i realised that very often we enjoy such things, we go with the crowd, we blend in, but when it comes to worshipping God etc we aren't as happy or hyped. i don't know how to explain how i felt, but it was just so cool. i mean, somehow i felt God speaking to me and despite how noisy it was, i was able to quieten down and hear Him. perhaps i'm just weird.
the thing ended with everyone yucky and sweating and hungry. haha. but i realised with sadness that i do love my OG. in a not so obvious sort of way. it wasn't like my love for ARC where i was so enthu about it. in fact, i wasn't exactly happy with my OG. yet...i love them and i miss them badly already =( i miss my OGL..i miss orientation and i look back and wonder why i wasn't as crazy as i can be and perhaps....i would enjoy it better....
the OG went off for dinner and this time. it wasn't as pathetic as the previous.
looking back...orientation wasn't that bad. it had it's plus and minuses, but God has taught me a lot of stuff. i know at least that i'm not in SA just to have fun, but to glorify God's name and to serve Him. i've never been so close to God before and it's been such a great start to a new year =)
YF was cool too. great worship and all. even if we all were on the floor and squashed together on the second floor cos there was a wedding going on down below.
i just recieved an email from shukun regarding comm report. i'm seriously not used to being involved in such stuff. cos i was usually MIAing from serving in pub. haha. and all of a sudden POOF...i have to do reports and plannings and all. it's all very scary. and i have no clue who is in my team =S bah....i need to meet up with the pub team to plan soon..AHHHH...
and thus...a new week begins. how fast time flies as u get older....
